The Story of Investive

In 2021, God told me to start a retreat to provide writers a yearly opportunity to step out of their lives for a few days and invest in themselves and their creative projects. Since then, a wonderful community has grown around my little retreat. Every year we see our relationships grow and new creative passions bloom and thrive.

It’s always been important to me to listen to my attendees feedback and be in tune with the needs of the creative community. And so, shortly before our fifth annual retreat in 2026, Investive began to sprout some new branches.

It is no great secret that creatives often struggle to promote themselves and their art. The act of creating is a very different craft than the effort of marketing. And quite often, both of those skills simply do not reside in the same person.

Investive’s new growth aims to fill that gap between artists and their ideal market. It is my passion to promote artists through personalized marketing assistance, as well as opportunities for commission sales, and see their art placed into the hands of people who want it.

So where does the retreat fit into all of this? Well, it’s fairly impossible for me to stop expressing hospitality, so the retreat will continue as Investive’s main event each year. I believe that community and connection is vitality important to the creation of art, and I seek to serve writers and artists through hosting spaces where they can work together and be refilled. It is my dream to eventually expand into having multiple retreats every year.
